Chiang Rai (1 April 2012), The Thailand national team led by Phuchong Sai-Udomsin, the number one Thai rider, began the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Cup Tour of Thailand 2012 with a tremendous task Sunday by capturing the best ASEAN award both in the Individual and Team category while Australian cyclists took 1-3 positions on the podium.

2013 SEA GAMES: Myanmar to propose less events

MYANMAR, the host for the 27th Sea Games, is planning to offer 28 sports during the biennial event next year, 12 less than the Indonesian edition last November.

Vietnam News Agency (VNA) quoted the joint general secretary of the Myanmar Olympic Committee, U Khin Maung Lwin, as saying the host had selected sports which played to their strength and in line with their culture.

He said he would present a comprehensive plan to the participating countries in a meeting at the end of this month in Indonesia.

As the Games host, Myanmar has the right to propose the number of sports, including the national favourites.

Gymnastics, beach volleyball and dance are among the sports that will be axed from the Myanmar Games.

The 27th Sea Games will be held in the Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay regions and the Ngwe Saung Beach on Dec 11-22, next year. Bernama
